This is the actual range of the Nissan Ariya
Electric cars usually consume more than the manufacturers state. The result is less good range than you might expect. This time we are testing the range of the Nissan Ariya.
The difference between the stated WLTP range and the actual range is large for some vehicles. For this reason, Autovisie tests the actual average range in practice with the air conditioning and radio on. This gives you a better idea of how far you can actually get with an electric vehicle.
The Nissan Ariya
Autovisie drives the Nissan Ariya with a 242 hp front-wheel drive and a large 87 kWh battery, which is good for a range of up to 536 kilometers. During the test, the electric vehicle was on winter tires and the outside temperature was 7 degrees. There was also quite a bit of wind.
The actual range
Nissan claims a WLTP consumption of 18.2 kWh/100 km. The asynchronous motor also proved to be economical in the test, although we achieved higher consumption than stated by the manufacturer.
Nissan Ariya | |
---|---|
WLTP consumption average | 18.2 kWh/100 km |
Measured consumption | 19.2 kWh/100 km |
WLTP area | 525km/453km |
Max. measured charging speed | 89kW |
Charging time 10-80%/measured | 35 mins |
The on-board computer shows 19.2 kWh/100 km. This gives you a range of 453 kilometers.
Please note that the actual consumption, including charging losses, can be more than 10 percent higher than what is displayed in the on-board computer. The total amount of generated power needed to achieve the WLTP range is therefore greater than what actually fits in the battery.
Charging the Nissan Ariya
Charging takes a very long time. The specified 130 kilowatts are already meager, but in practice we only achieved 89 kW at 70 percent charge in the cold, which was reduced to 73 kW at 80 percent, so that the standard session from 10 to 80 percent took 40 minutes.
The consumption round
Autovisie independently tests consumption in the Netherlands as part of the Autovisie double test. Please note that consumption may vary as it depends on your driving style, but also on weather conditions and many other factors.
