Dive into the price list: the electric Opel Astra
With the Opel Astra Electric, the brand has added perhaps one of its most important new models to its range. The electric Opel Astra Sport Tourer is an almost unique offering. We familiarize ourselves with a look at the price list.
The current Opel Astra has already shone several times in this section. When the hatchback was just launched, the range was expanded to include the Sports Tourer and we also put together the sporty GSE version. With the introduction of the Opel Astra Electric – also as a station wagon! – The offer is complete for now. We think the model is important enough to take another look at the new Astra.
Opel Astra Electric powertrain
Under the hood of the Opel Astra Electric we find the well-known Stellantis powertrain. This means a 115 kW (156 hp) and 260 Nm electric motor. The battery has a capacity of 54 kWh and together with an average power consumption of 14.8 to 15.5 kWh/100 km, this should be enough for a range of 398 to 418 km (WLTP).
Opel Astra Electric: also as a fully electric station wagon!
The electric powertrain isn’t just for the hatchback. The Opel Astra Electric is also available as a Sports Tourer. A fully electric station wagon. This leaves Opel practically alone. In addition to the significantly more expensive Porsche Taycan Turismo models, there are only two competitors: the MG 5 Electric and the Peugeot e-308 SW. The MG is slightly cheaper and more powerful than Opel and Peugeot, but also offers slightly less luggage space and range. The technically identical Opel and Peugeot are almost identical.
Prices Opel Astra Electric
The Opel Astra is available from 31,999 euros, the Sports Tourer costs at least 33,499 euros. For the Opel Astra Electric, prices start at 39,999 euros for the hatchback and 41,499 euros for the sports tourer. You receive the same (basic) equipment. The Electric is also available as a slightly more luxurious and sporty GS.
Additional equipment for Opel Astra Electric
Well, same level of equipment… There are a few differences. The nameless entry-level model of the Opel Astra Electric is already equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, instead of 16 inches for the petrol engine. A center armrest at the front and a USB-C port at the rear are also standard on the electric and not on the petrol version. In any case, the standard 11 kW on-board charger and the heat pump for warming up or cooling down the interior before departure are only available for the electric car.
Our choice
This time we are taking the Sports Tourer as the starting point for our configuration as it is the most distinctive model in the EV market. We also choose the GS version. Then there is a slightly nicer decoration, but also heated sports seats, an adaptive cruise control with stop & go function and the Pure Panel Pro with 10-inch digital instruments and 10-inch touchscreen.
Outdoor decoration
Nice: At Opel you’re in the mood for a nice tan. The hatchback is available as standard in yellow (a color also exclusive to the hatchback), the Sports Tourer is available as standard in red. It’s no different with the Opel Astra Electric. For 199 euros you can get the Astra in white, black or one of the two shades of gray and costs 699 euros extra. There is an additional charge of 899 euros for the bright blue body color. The blue is nice, but we prefer to keep the money in our pocket and stick with the beautiful red. The selected version does not offer any other rim options.
Interior decoration
However, we can swap the standard fabric upholstery for luxurious Alcantara in the same color. This costs an additional 499 euros. This is what we do.
Individual options and packages
The only separate option is the Multimedia Navi Pro (649 euros), which brings navigation with live traffic information, a point-of-interest search function, over-the-air updates and voice control for the infotainment. These additional functions can only be used free of charge for the first six months.
Then the option packages. The Comfort package (1,599 euros) offers, among other things, a panoramic roof, an electrically operated tailgate, window heating and interior air purification. The technology package (1,399 euros) mainly includes the IntelliLux Pixel LED headlights and additional driving assistants. Finally, there is the infotainment package (1,699 euros), which, contrary to the name, primarily includes the Multimedia Navi Pro, additional driving assistants and some individual options from the Comfort package.
We’ll stick with the Comfort package.
