Dive into the price list: The Mercedes-Benz CLE, how much does the coupe cost?
The Mercedes-Benz CLE-Class is a completely new model series that replaces both the coupé versions of the C-Class and the E-Class. By looking at the price list we get to know each other better.
It happens regularly that Mercedes-Benz brings a new model onto the market, but it is not often that it is a completely new series. With the Mercedes-Benz CLE, the brand is presenting a new luxury coupé that replaces both the C-Class Coupé and the E-Class Coupé (and in the long term probably also their convertible versions). In terms of dimensions (4.8 meters long) and positioning, the new CLE is largely on the same level as the E-Class.
Two Mercedes-Benz CLE models
When the Mercedes-Benz CLE is introduced, there are two models to choose from. The entry-level model is the CLE 200 with 150 kW (204 hp) and 320 Nm of torque. If that’s not enough for you, you can choose the CLE 300 with 190 kW (258 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The CLE 300 also has all-wheel drive, while the CLE 200 only drives the rear wheels. Of course, the performance of the two models also differs. The CLE 200 reaches 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and accelerates further to 240 km/h, the CLE 300 does it in 6.5 seconds and reaches the “standard” speed of 250 km/h. Both engine variants feature mild hybrid technology and a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Prices Mercedes-Benz CLE
The price tag of the Mercedes-Benz CLE says at least 69,763 euros. This amount obviously applies to the CLE 200. The CLE 300 is available from 79,618 euros.
Standard equipment Mercedes-Benz CLE
The Mercedes-Benz CLE is, at least currently, only available as an AMG Line. The rest of the standard equipment is of course also very complete, so we have only picked out a few highlights: 19-inch alloy wheels, extensive electric seat and steering wheel adjustment with memory function, 12.3-inch digital instruments, 11.9-inch central Touchscreen, extensive MBUX infotainment including Remote Services Premium.
When we invest in such a luxurious coupe, we immediately go for the (current) top model, the CLE 300.
Outdoor decoration
Visually, there is no difference between the Mercedes-Benz CLE 200 and the CLE 300. The car is also equipped with the AMG Line package as standard. For 460 euros we can still opt for the Night package, with black accents on the rims and specially tinted windows. This is what we do.
The standard color is black, very dark gray, “normal” gray and dark blue are optionally available at no extra charge. White and red are available for an additional charge of 823 euros. Plain gray costs 1,803 euros extra, but for very dark manufactured gray you pay the top price: a whopping 4,223 euros. By the way, all optional colors are manufactured colors. The configurator indicates that very dark gray is the most frequently ordered color. We choose blue, which stands out from all the gray (and black and white) Mercedes models.
Then the wheels. We can replace the standard copies with all-black versions at no additional cost. Optionally, 19-inch or 20-inch AMG wheels are available for an additional charge of 908 euros, with the 19-inch version also completely in black. We opt for the black rims at no extra charge.
Interior decoration
The standard upholstery of the Mercedes CLE consists of black Artico synthetic leather combined with black microfiber. As an option at no extra charge, all upholstery is in Artico. Options for 182 euros are largely light brown or almost white upholstery. For an additional charge of 1,803 euros you can get genuine leather upholstery in black. Leather in the colors mentioned above or bright red costs 1,984 euros extra. Nappa leather is available from 3,013 euros (black) or 3,194 euros (brown and white). The light brown and red upholstery is apparently not allowed in combination with our blue body color. Then we just stick with the standard upholstery, which is “secretly” the nicest.
The surface of the dashboard is covered, among other things, with a “metal structure”. Linden wood and walnut wood are available for 411 euros. A silver-colored “metallic fabric mix” and open-pore wood with aluminum lines are slightly more expensive at 472 euros. We choose walnut wood. For the center console (the lower part between the seats) only high-gloss black and metal structure (182 euros) are available. The latter cannot be combined with the wood we have chosen and we therefore do without it.
Packages and individual options
It almost goes without saying that everything is possible in terms of equipment packages and individual options with the Mercedes CLE. Let us first mention the things that we are checking. These are Dynamic Body Control (no extra charge, but mandatory with rear-axle steering for 2,360 euros), the head-up display (1,198 euros), Burmester surround sound system (1,343 euros), front seat ventilation (914 euros), an interior air filter (182 Euro). ) and the winter package (steering wheel heating and heated windshield washer system, 436 euros) and additional side airbags in the rear (454 euros).
Some options that we do not choose for our Mercedes CLE: a panoramic roof (1,718 euros), a trailer hitch (1,180 euros), a discreet AMG spoiler at the rear (424 euros), interior preheating (1,476 euros) and additional assistance systems parking systems (557 up to 2,420 euros). Options can also be ordered together in the Premium Package (2,420 euros) or Premium Plus Package (7,139 euros). If you would like to order the individual options in these packages, this is a little cheaper than checking everything individually. Some options can only be ordered in combination with one of these packages. For example the Digital Light headlights, to name just a few.
