With the new Audi RS 3 Performance you can reach 300 km/h!
According to an old German custom, most Audi sports cars are limited to 250 km/h. The electronic guard can only do 280 km/h or even 290 km/h fast if you take a very sweet look at the dealer with a few thousand euros in your hand. But not with this Audi RS 3 Performance…
This Audi RS 3 Performance can drive much harder. The five-cylinder cake is only ready at 300 km/h. Because yes, under the hood is the glorious five-cylinder turbo engine from Audi. In the “normal” Audi RS 3, the power monster has an output of 400 hp. In terms of performance, the block is turned up a bit, to exactly 407 hp.
Audi RS 3 with slightly higher turbo pressure
The torque of 500 Nm does not change, only it is now available over a slightly wider speed range. Audi has succeeded in doing this with a higher turbo pressure of 1.6 bar (plus 0.1 bar).
Like the other RS 3 models, the Performance also has a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission with double clutch.
Standard on Pirelli semi-slicks
What else do you get for your extra euros? Well, some of the things that are optional on the RS 3 are standard on the Performance, such as: B. an adaptive suspension, carbon ceramic brakes and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slicks.
The standard equipment also includes the sporty bucket seats at the front, which, like the dashboard, are finished with blue topstitching.
Daytime running lights dance
When you unlock an Audi RS 3, its daytime running lights do a kind of welcome dance. The block below the headlights shows an R, an S, and a 3 before changing to a checkered flag.
In performance, the LEDs only do this when you close the car. The opening number was adjusted to a 3, a 0 and another 0 by Audi.
Audi RS 3 Performance only 300 times
Why? Because no more than 300 examples of the RS 3 Performance will be built. You can see that on the carbon fiber strip above the glove compartment, because it says “1 of 300”.
In the European press release, Audi quotes a price of 75,000 euros for the Sportback and 77,000 for the sedan. The Dutch price is not yet known but will exceed 100,000 euros thanks to more than 27,000 euros bpm.
