At the end of August, Alfa Romeo presented an 800 hp super sports car
Dutch Alfa Romeo designer Bob Romkes will show what he has to offer on August 30th. Then the curtain falls on a super sports car that is to rely on the technology of the Maserati MC20.
The source of inspiration for the new Alfa Romeo model is the 33 Stradale from the late 1960s. It’s powered by Maserati’s six-cylinder Nettuno engine, reports Italian magazine Quattroruote, but with the addition of hybrid technology.
New Alfa Romeo powered by Maserati
The Maserati MC20 features a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 630 hp. The new Alfa should be able to achieve 800 hp with electrical support.
The limited edition is already sold out
Shame on the wealthy Alfisti; According to Alfa CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato, the upcoming supercar is already sold out. It is not yet known how many examples of the car will be built, but we are sure that it is a limited edition.
Hinged doors damage the roof
Gullwing doors from the Maserati are likely to return to the Alfa. The biggest difference is the top, which extends to the roof for easier access to the cramped cabin.
The Italian manufacturer has ten years
Stellantis gave Alfa Romeo ten years to prove themselves. The Tonale was still being developed under Fiat Chrysler (and immediately returned to the development department when Imparato took office).
Somewhat notably, Alfa Romeo will be selling an 800hp supercar in the near future, but also an electric Jeep Avenger in Alfa uniform. What a contrast!
Beautiful and unique Zagato Giulia SWB
Last December, Zagato surprised us with the beautiful Giulia SWB Zagato, designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Alfa partnership. The stunning coupe is powered by the Giulia GTAm’s 540 hp 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6.
