Want to test drive the 1,111 hp Lucid Air? That’s possible this week in Amsterdam

Want to test drive the 1,111 hp Lucid Air? That’s possible this week in Amsterdam

In its most powerful version, the Lucid Air delivers 1,111 hp. An insane power that can hardly be put into words. You have to actually feel it. Good news, because you can. Lucid Motors is now offering you the opportunity to take a free test drive with the lightning-fast electric car.

While we’ve written about Lucid Motors before (and that silly bug the car had), you might never have heard of the car brand. In contrast to the established brands, this car manufacturer is still relatively young. The brand was founded in 2007 and responds to the new era of electric driving.

Focus on luxury

The focus is primarily on luxury, as evidenced by the stylish design, the chic materials in the interior and the price of at least 115,000 euros. For this money, however, you are in the entry-level version of the Lucid Air with “only” 480 hp. If you want to enjoy all 1,111 electric horses, you have to pay at least – don’t worry – 222,000 euros.

A lot more than the Tesla Model S Plaid, which you can get for less than 133,000. In addition, the Tesla Model S Plaid is significantly faster than the Lucid Air with a 0 to 100 time of 2.1 seconds.

Lucid Air offers the Dutch a test drive

The most powerful version of the Lucid Air manages a traffic light sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a still impressive 2.7 seconds. If you want to experience it yourself, you’re in luck. Between July 13th and 16th, Lucid’s “European Roadshow” will land in Amsterdam. After registering with the RAI, you can experience for yourself how more than 1,100 hp feels under your butt. You can also take a test drive in two slightly tamer versions.

Although the unparalleled power would suggest otherwise, Lucid isn’t just about male achievement figures. The Air must become an unprecedented electric business car that eliminates the disadvantages of electric driving. For many car buyers, this is the limited range.

883 km range

At least the idea that the range would be limited. The average range of electric vehicles is increasing and together with a growing charging network and ever improving charging speeds, this point is less and less valid. In addition, the Lucid Air relieves you of the last loading stress. Depending on the version, the electric car has a range of 883 kilometers. That’s more than most internal combustion engine cars can do on a full tank. But that is still significantly less than with this innovative electric car.
