Did he want to flex his muscles? A man (40) from Grevenbroich (D) injured his neighbor (29) with an eight kilo iron barbell. His victim suffered a traumatic brain injury.

But that’s not all: the perpetrator even threw a flower pot after him, but missed the man. Now he has to answer for the court of Rhineland in Mönchengladbach, writes the “FAZ”. However, the suspect presented the course of events in a completely different way.

Dad lost custody

Attempted murder with an iron barbell, as well as dangerous bodily harm and resisting law enforcement officers – that’s what the offender is charged with. He admits to throwing objects at his neighbours. But one detail should have been completely different.

The dumbbell just rolled down after throwing a chair. According to the victim’s lawyer, it was attempted murder because the victim did not expect an attack from above.

It is unclear whether the man was sane when he threw the objects from the balcony. He is said to have been terrified of persecution and even spoke of death threats. The neighbor claimed that the escaped Pakistani kept throwing things from the balcony.
