The Chechens are coming – how “Putin’s bloodhound” replaces “Putin’s cook” threatens 30 years in prison: Danny Masterson found guilty of rape

The Russian military command has apparently ordered Chechen troops to begin offensive operations in Ukraine. “Putin’s bloodhound” and his pack of Achmats could thus replace “Putin’s cook” and his Wagner mercenaries in the Ukraine.

Achmat’s special unit and its use

After taking part in the fighting for Mariupol, Severodonetsk and Lyssychansk, the Chechen soldiers largely operated in the rear area – and therefore participated in sporadic offensive combat operations for only about a year.

Now, however, Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Russian republic of Chechnya, announced on his Telegram channel on Wednesday that his Chechen fighters had assumed responsibility for the front line in the Donetsk region. He and his soldiers have been conducting “active combat operations” for several days to “liberate a number of settlements” in the Donetsk area. To this end, he had moved the special units Achmat and Sever-Achmat in the direction of Marinka. In addition, Chechen troops would be deployed in Zaporizhia and Kherson Oblasts. According to Kadyrov, there are about 7,000 Chechen soldiers in Ukraine.

In addition to the Akhmad fighters, the Russian Ministry of Defense had commissioned the attack command of the 5th Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 1st Army Corps for offensive operations in the Donetsk area.

Moreover, Kadyrov explains that “contrary to the claims of the European and Ukrainian media”, the Ukrainians have not yet launched an offensive. Nevertheless, military progress will now be made. “We’re tired of waiting.”

In contrast, the American think tank “Institute for the Study of War” (ISW) reported that there was no evidence of a Chechen offensive operation at Zaporizhia or Kherson.

Castling with the Wagner mercenaries?

The ISW suspects that current developments indicate that the Kremlin is attempting to reinstate Kadyrov’s soldiers as the main strike force after Wagner forces withdraw from the fronts. Vladimir Putin and Kadyrov met in public on March 13. Since then, it has been rumored that Russian President pressured Kadyrov to increase the role of Chechen fighters in the fighting.

Yevgenin Prigozhin responded on May 31 to reports of Chechen troops moving into the area where the Wagners had been operating. The Wagner boss was confident that Kadyrov’s troops would succeed in capturing some settlements in the region, he stressed.

Prigozhin and Kadyrov last teamed up in early May to use a ruse to force the Russian Defense Ministry to supply supplies to the Wagner mercenaries in Bakhmut.

The ISW comments on the statement that the Chechens should replace the Wagner group:

“The Kremlin may view Chechen units as inactive assault troops that can restore Russia’s capability.”

However, if Kadyrov’s claim – that he has more than 7,000 troops in Ukraine – is true, it is unlikely that he will be able to successfully carry out several major offensive operations, the ISW said.

Russia and Chechnya

Putin’s support for Kadyrov is certain. Because Russia has almost completely financed Chechnya’s budget for years. And Putin lets Kadyrov rule and rule his country like a dictator. For example, Kadyrov persecuted and killed members of the opposition and homosexuals, or illegally enriched himself through corruption, as the investigative network “Project” revealed several years ago. In addition, the devout Muslim Kadyrov has several wives, which is actually prohibited under Russian law – although Russian law also applies to the Chechen republic.

Not so long ago, the Chechens experienced something similar to what Ukraine is experiencing today. During the two Chechen wars (1994–1996 and 1999–2009), Russian forces fought alongside pro-Russian Chechen groups against the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. In the second Chechen war alone, between 50,000 and 80,000 people died and the cities lay in ruins.

The conflict ended when the former Soviet Autonomous Republic in the North Caucasus, which had been independent since 1991, was reintegrated into the Russian Federation and Kadyrov was installed as the pro-Russian president.

How the deployment of the “Putin’s bloodhound” pack will affect the course of the war is completely unclear at the moment. However, one thing is clear: the Chechen soldiers are just as notorious for their inhuman behavior as the Wagner mercenaries. Kadyrov also called on Putin to impose martial law in order to take even harder action against Ukraine.
