A stripper sent to a bachelorette party sparked a police operation in Frankfurt this weekend. The man “underestimated the martial effect of his appearance,” the police said, according to the dpa news agency.

Accordingly, the 31-year-old was in the city center on Friday evening in a helmeted US police uniform and carrying an alleged assault rifle. “Due to the overall circumstances and the fact that it was not clear whether the gun was a real gun or a toy gun, the man was apprehended by pulling the gun,” the police report said.

Previously, several people who had seen the “suspicious person” reported. Because he had not undressed at the time of the report, a police spokesman told t-online when asked, the emergency services brought the 31-year-old to the ground and handcuffed.

The gun turned out to be a “deceptively real” toy gun. The man must now expect to bear the costs of the operation, a spokesperson for t-online said. In addition, there would be a check for violations of the Weapons Act. It prohibits the carrying of so-called fake weapons in public.

And apparently rightly so, but with only moderate success, the police spokesman revealed: “Unfortunately, it happens very often – several times a month – that police officers are warned about such weapons,” the official continued. “For the emergency services, such operations always involve an extremely high level of stress.” And it is certainly not a pleasant feeling for wearers of such weapons to look down the barrel of a real weapon.
