After the fire broke out on Thursday, a group of young people were seen running away from the site.

Police spokesman Paul Dunstan said the two teens turned themselves in to two different police stations on Friday evening. The detectives had spoken to the boys for a long time, they “are now helping the police with our investigation,” the spokesman added.

He called on the three or four other “young people who were present at the fire” to also report to the police with their parents and “tell their part of the story”. After the fire broke out on Thursday, a group of young people were seen running away from the site.

The fire broke out in a vacant seven-storey building near Sydney Central Station on Thursday. The flames reached a height of several meters and threatened to spread to neighboring buildings. The entire wall of the top floor collapsed and the rubble fell into the street. More than 130 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the blaze. Due to the operation, the operation of the main station had to be temporarily suspended.
