Sex at traffic lights can get so expensive

They looked red for too long and then attacked each other. Police in Erfurt, in the German state of Thuringia, had to end a couple’s quickie on Friday. The couple explained that the desire was simply too great and that they had to wait a long time at the traffic light.

The couple received a warning and a small fine for the wild crowds at the traffic lights. The fun cost a total of 20 euros, so 19 francs. This is reported by the “image”. The lovebirds got off so cheap because the traffic light quickie happened in the middle of the night.

Police caught the duo around 2:30 a.m. That’s why no one else noticed the wild goings on in the car. It would have been different if someone had felt disturbed by the sex. In Germany, there is a risk of a prison sentence of up to one year for “exciting public nuisance”.

Outdoor sex is generally allowed

In Switzerland, too, too much desire can quickly turn into frustration. In principle, sex in public is not prohibited by law. Anyone caught having traffic light sex can commit a felony of sexual harassment. If someone feels disturbed by the wild bustle, there may be a complaint. If convicted, there is a risk of a fine.

Article 198 of the Swiss Penal Code on “sexual harassment” reads: Anyone who performs sexual acts in the presence of an unexpected person and thereby causes a nuisance, who physically or grossly sexually harasses someone with words, will, upon request , punished with a fine.” A display of exhibitionism would also be possible, which also carries a fine.

But even if you get caught, you can get away. Charles Balsiger (77) from Eschenz TG was recently annoyed by it. Last year, the former architect saw a couple having unabashed fun on the shore of the monastery island of Werd. “People have simply lost their decency and respect for each other,” Balsiger said at the time.
