Trump faces new defamation lawsuit against Elizabeth Jean Carroll

Carroll’s legal team considers the statements to be “very significant” damage to the plaintiff’s reputation, and has requested that they be included in the case so that the amount of money Trump must pay the writer, who currently lives in Mexico, can be reviewed. five million dollars (more than 4.5 million euros) and to ask that it amount to a minimum of ten million (9.25 million euros).

“Trump’s defamatory statements after the verdict show the depth of his malice toward Carroll, as it is difficult to imagine defamatory behavior that could be more motivated by hatred, malice or resentment,” condemned the text presented by his lawyers.

“This conduct warrants a very significant punitive award in favor of Carroll, both to punish Trump and to deter him from continuing the defamation and to deter others from doing the same,” he added.

The case comes amid renewed efforts by Trump to return to the White House as he faces other legal actions, including his recent indictment for covering up a series of bribes paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in exchange for keeping quiet about an alleged sexual affair.
