Mysterious sailing yacht “Andromeda”: new speculation about the Nord Stream attack Hungary releases smugglers – Austria strengthens border controls

In connection with the attacks on the Nord Stream pipelines, German detectives apparently have a new clue. So this should lead to Ukrainian military circles. As reported by NDR, WDR, “Süddeutsche Zeitung” and international media partners, the sailing yacht “Andromeda” is again at the center of the Attorney General’s investigations.

The investigations are still very politically explosive. There is also speculation about the motives: is it really a retaliation related to the Russian offensive war? Or were false tracks deliberately laid to distract from the real people behind them – a so-called “false flag operation”, the Tagesschau suspects.

According to these, several people would have started the yacht in September 2022 in Rostock and may have been involved in the explosions at the bottom of the Baltic Sea. A person who is said to be from a city southeast of Kiev is mentioned by the research partners as a possible suspect.

The 20-year-old is said to have previously served in an infantry unit of the Ukrainian army. Photos in military uniform show him with distinctive tattoos. Despite several requests, neither the Ukrainian government nor the embassy were willing to comment, NDR reports.

Further traces should lead from the sailing yacht “Andromeda” to a Polish company that had rented the yacht, it is said. In official documents, a woman is named as “President”, who, according to the research group, would live in Ukraine. According to investigative circles, the company is a letterbox company and the “President” is a straw woman who would know nothing about the actual affairs of the company.

The travel agency has no website and has had no significant sales for years. Until it suddenly yielded 2.8 million euros in 2020, for which there is still no explanation. The company’s president confirmed her position over the phone, but left further questions unanswered.

Official bodies in Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany, as well as countries such as Ukraine, the US and Russia, have so far declined to comment on the new investigation and have denied any responsibility for the destruction of the pipelines. It is still unclear who is ultimately responsible for the attacks.
