US Senator Scott wants to be the Republican nominee in the 2024 election Adidas now wants to sell Kanye West shoes again

In the United States, the field of candidates for the Republican Party’s candidacy in the 2024 presidential election is growing. US Senator Tim Scott from the state of South Carolina submitted his written application documents for a candidacy on Friday. The 57-year-old Republican is expected to formally announce his application Monday during a performance at a college in Charleston where he once attended. His chances of success are considered slim.

In the U.S. Senate, Scott is the only black representative in his party. He sees his emergence from a poor background as the epitome of the American dream. In a video published in April, he speaks out against divisive politics and calls for more optimism. Scott also emphasizes his religiosity and his desire to defend America’s conservative values. He cites border control and the fight against abortion as examples.

Scott isn’t the only applicant from South Carolina. The former US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley (51), who registered in February, is also coming here. Former US President Donald Trump (76), who has been in the race since November, is currently among the top of the field of applicants. Prominent US Republican and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (44) is expected to officially announce his candidacy next week. He is considered Trump’s biggest internal party competitor.

The presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. Unlike the Democrats, the Republicans are expected to have a broad field of candidates. Who ultimately wants to become the official candidate of the party must first win the internal party primaries. US President Joe Biden is running for re-election by the Democrats and as an incumbent is unlikely to face serious competition in the election campaign within the party. (sda/dpa)
