Former US President Donald Trump (76) is often accused of lying. For once, he should get justice from America’s highest judiciary. The headquarters of former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton (75) made up a story about Trump’s ties to Russia. This was announced by US special prosecutor John Durham on Monday after a four-year investigation. In the newspaper, the 73-year-old comes to the conclusion that the FBI should never have conducted the investigation in this way. However, the FBI has not launched an investigation against Clinton or the Democrats.
The FBI used “raw, unanalyzed and unconfirmed information” against Trump. However, according to the Durham Report, a different yardstick was used when weighing concerns about alleged election interference by the Clinton campaign. US intelligence agencies should never have opened an investigation into Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia, the 300-page investigative report concludes. The allegations were based on unconfirmed data.
The pace and manner in which the FBI opened its investigation based on “unconfirmed information” reflects “a significant departure” from the way the FBI has handled similar cases. Investigations against Democrat Clinton are cited as an example. report, individual FBI officials had “expressed hostile feelings toward Trump.”
US Special Counsel Durham is not recommending new charges against individuals. But now it’s official that the US secret services had no information that anyone close to Trump or Trump himself had contacted Russian special services. Special investigator Robert Mueller (78) then found no evidence of the alleged Trump connection, which was denied by both the White House and the Kremlin.
Trump reacted correspondingly euphorically to the publication of the Durham report. “Wow!”, he wrote on his social network Truth Social on Monday. “After extensive investigation, Special Counsel John Durham concludes that the FBI should never have launched the Trump-Russia investigation. In other words, the American public has been betrayed, just as it is now being betrayed by those who don’t want to see greatness for America!” Trump’s demand: “A heavy price must be paid” by the responsible Democrats and then-FBI director James Comey (62).
It has been investigated for several years whether Trump’s campaign camp made secret agreements with representatives of Russia at the time and whether Trump obstructed the judicial investigation.
