Parent taxis cause mega traffic jams

Almost a kilometer of traffic jams every morning: these scenes take place in front of the Phorms private school in the Frankfurt area (D), as reported by “Bild”.

Shortly before classes begin at 9 a.m., SUVs and electric cars are backed up on the avenue in front of the school, according to the report. About 200 cars drive the route from Frankfurt to the school every day.

Most cars come from the city, the Protzkids are driven to school by their parents in the Taunus nature reserve. From the school, the children have a view of the city skyline.

The megafile sometimes reaches lengths of up to 800 metres. Sometimes it only moves forward at a walking pace.

Nothing works anymore

Some children are unloaded 50 to 100 meters in front of the school and then walk the remainder of the way to the building. Most cars drive right in front of the school. There the private students are unloaded. At rush hour, just before classes begin, the cars practically come to a standstill and traffic collapses in front of the private school.

According to the “Bild”, accidents always happen due to the mega traffic jams at the previous intersection. Only when classes start at 9 am do the parents’ taxis disappear and the traffic jam dissolves.
