Donald Trump or his organization has been involved in more than 4,000 lawsuits since the 1980s. And every time his back was against the wall, he came up with an equation. For example, when in 2016 he shrugged off allegations of fraud related to his “Trump University” with 25 million, or when he was found to be discriminating against African-American tenants. Because the complaints seemed to roll off him, he was nicknamed “Teflon Trump”.
But now it’s got him. A New York jury ordered him to pay $5 million in damages for assault and defamation of writer E. Jean Carroll. With that, the days of Teflon Trump are over.
The 45th president of the US could hardly hurt the small sum of five million for him. And whether the conviction can harm his political career is the question. However, things could get much worse for the Republican party nominee. And that’s pretty fast.
In addition to these five legal heavyweights, Trump or his organization is involved in a number of other civil lawsuits. Several police officers who stood in or in front of the Capitol on January 6 are trying to indict Donald Trump. You’re not alone in this. Ten Democratic congressmen who had to flee the Capitol also want Trump’s role investigated.
