Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip fired several rockets into Israeli territory on Wednesday. In the early afternoon, warning sirens blared at various places in the border area. Initially, paramedics said there were no injuries.
According to local sources in Gaza, the rockets were fired in response to Israeli attacks in the coastal area. The Israeli army initially only confirmed the missile alert.
Earlier, the Israeli air force had attacked several targets of the militant Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip. Palestinian security circles said military installations and jihad facilities had been hit. At least one Palestinian has been killed, according to hospital reports.
The Israeli Air Force killed three senior members of the Islamic Jihad on Tuesday night. Israeli airstrikes in the coastal strip killed a total of 13 people, including several women and children. Two members of a Palestinian militant group were also killed in an Israeli attack on a car in southern Gaza on Tuesday. According to the army, they would have carried guided anti-tank missiles.
