On Friday morning, Berlin police again had to deploy heavy equipment to free a “last-generation” climate glue from the streets. A Flex was used at the corner of Prenzlauer Allee and Danziger Strasse. An activist had clung to the road there.
Videos from a T-Online reporter show two police officers laboriously widening the roadway. They also try to break open the road with hammer and chisel. A third agent holds a blanket to protect the climate activist.
As a police spokesman told T-Online this morning, this was the only place where an activist had to be released on Friday. However, in recent days there have been similar situations in the capital.
This has to do with the fact that the activists often no longer only use super glue, which is soluble in cooking oil. They now use a self-lab technique to stick themselves. The police spokesperson confirms this to T-Online: “This is a kind of glue-sand-resin mixture”. The “BZ” also reported about it.
The police spokesman could not say what exactly is in this mixture. One thing is certain: the solution is much more difficult to dissolve than super glue.
The police are reportedly not worried: “We are well prepared,” said the spokesperson. One is constantly improving in the course of the actions of the «last generation». The mixture was already partially used last year.
Because of the “last generation”, hundreds of police officers have been on duty in Berlin for weeks. Climate activists blocked a total of ten locations in the German capital on Friday morning. In recent days, the ‘last generation’ has kept it to highways, among other things.
Also on Friday, the “Last Generation” invaded the grounds of Berlin Airport (BER), as confirmed by the federal police at the request of T-Online.
The activists temporarily streamed the action live on Twitter. A video published there shows two activists spraying orange paint on an airplane. Airport employees are quickly on site and pull the activists away from the plane.

Convenience for some, death sentence for others – we’ve highlighted an extremely dangerous item at BER Airport.

The spokeswoman for the federal police said that the police were also on site and took control of the action. The exact circumstances of the action were initially unclear. Another federal police spokesman later said that the activists involved had been provisionally arrested.
The “Last Generation” issued a press release about the campaign. It states that the activists cut a fence with two nippers and thus entered the airport grounds. Several people in safety vests drove through the airport road network to the airport’s private jet terminal. There they would have painted private jets with ready fire extinguishers. Only one stricken aircraft can be seen in the video.
When asked, a spokeswoman for BER also confirmed that unauthorized persons had entered the site. This does not affect air traffic.
The three people from Vaud, aged 21, 23 and 32, were found guilty of soliciting and inciting military duties in early December 2022. They were sentenced to 50 to 60 daily rates on probation with amounts between 10 and 50 francs per day. On the other hand, they appealed.
Specifically, the federal attorney accuses the three activists of having published an article on the climate strike website in May 2020 entitled “I’m boycotting the military.” In it they called on people not to do military service or pay the military tax “because of ethical, environmental and social responsibility”.
