An armed attack on a Belgrade school left several dead

Nine people died, including eight minors, and several were injured in Belgrade School.

According to official data, a 14-year-old boy, a student of that institution, fired a gun at his classmates and teaching and security staff this morning.

As stated in the press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, the ninth deceased was a member of the security team of that institution.

The letter states that six male and female students were injured and are being treated in two hospitals in Belgrade.

A young man who is suspected of having committed a crime was found and detained at the playground of O.Š. “Vladislav Ribnikar”, is located near the center of Belgrade.

A seventh-grade student fired a gun, which allegedly belonged to his father, at several students and school security personnel.

Numerous police patrols with special intervention teams are deployed around the school, near the center of Belgrade, and are working to establish the facts and circumstances that led to the tragedy.

Siniša Dučić, director of the “Tiršova” hospital.one of the clinics to which the injured were referred, told local television that three children were admitted, one of whom was a girl with severe head injuries.
