After fatal shots in a hospital in the American city of Atlanta, an hours-long manhunt led to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator. According to police, the 24-year-old was arrested Wednesday evening (local time) after shooting around the waiting room of a clinic and killing a 39-year-old. In the act, the background of which was initially unclear, four other women were also injured – some of them critically.
After the incident, the suspected shooter fled in a stolen car. Emergency services searched several counties in the state of Georgia with a large contingent for the man described as armed and dangerous. A photo of the suspect has also been released.
Gun shootings, murders and even suicides with guns are the order of the day in the US. Tens of thousands of people die every year. In the conservative state of Georgia, gun laws are very lax. Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed a law last year that would allow the carrying of guns without a state license. (SDA)
