Daughter of diplomat missing in Berlin: ‘Akila under the control of a criminal’

Akila Rakhi von Brandt, the daughter of German diplomat Andreas von Brandt, has been missing since Sunday.

Brandt himself has now spoken out – spreading the full name and a photo of his daughter’s alleged kidnapper. The man kidnapped his daughter and is said to have taken her to Poland or further south, von Brandt writes on Twitter.

The man is a convicted habitual offender, Akila would be under his “at least mental dependence control”. “She may look older than 15 but is still very vulnerable, childish, geographically disoriented and was put in this position by lies and false promises.”

It is now more likely that Akila is still in the Berlin area, writes her father. He asks to watch her, especially in the Spandau/Reinickendorf region. Recently, von Brandt’s employer, the Federal Foreign Office, became involved in the search for the 15-year-old and shared a search notice.

The diplomat’s actions disagreed with them, a Berlin police spokeswoman said when asked by t-online. The suspect is “according to our information, a 28-year-old man with a stronger build,” said the spokeswoman. It is possible that the two appear as a pair.

According to the police description of the person, the girl is between 1.50 meters and 1.60 meters tall. Most recently, she wore a tan jacket, dark gray hoodie, black sweatpants, and blue sneakers with yellow laces. She also had a salmon-colored shoulder bag with an orange top and a light beige purse.
