Baseball reporter Marly Rivera yelled at a colleague at New York’s Yankees Stadium.

Because she insulted a colleague in the worst possible way, she must now resign from her position. We’re talking about baseball reporter Marly Rivera (49), who has been reporting for the American sports channel ESPN for 13 years. The incident happened last week at New York’s Yankees Stadium. As the New York Post reported, Rivera got into a fight with freelancer Ivón Gaete, 46, shortly before an interview with baseball player Aaron Judge, 31.

Rivera claimed she arranged an exclusive interview with the baseball star. When her guests refused to admit this exclusivity, Rivera’s fuses all flew.

Scenes were shot with a video camera

Rivera would have completely freaked out and insulted Gaete in the worst possible way. “F***ing c**t”, she would have called her colleague. Unfortunately, the scenes were captured by a video camera.

As the recordings published by “TMZ” show, Rivera allegedly instructed Gaete not to disturb Judge. In addition, it is her turn to do the interview. When the freelance journalist didn’t walk away from the Yankees star, wild insults ensued.

Reporter regrets her behavior

In retrospect, Rivera allegedly claimed that she had not spoken about Gaete. However, the sports channel was not impressed by the apology and instead took to the consequences immediately after the incident: “She doesn’t work here anymore,” ESPN tells the New York Post.

Rivera now seems to regret her panic. “I take full responsibility for what I said I should not have done,” the journalist told the newspaper. While there were extenuating circumstances, that in no way excused her actions. (dzc)
