US soldier applies for part-time job as a hitman

Josiah G.*, 21, was really just looking for a side job to support his family. But then he makes a strange decision: he wants to become a hitman. Now he faces several years in prison – and that because he reported on a nice website.

G. learned about the vacancy on the website rentahitman.com (English: book a hit man), reports NBC News. When the 21-year-old soldier signed up as a hit man, he had no idea the FBI would read his letter of motivation.

FBI fools soldiers

G. came across the dubious offer in February while looking for a job. However, it was not clear to the young soldier that the provider did not actually hire assassins. He has submitted his application documents. In his resume, he proudly emphasized that he has been working for the US Army since July 2021 and is also referred to as the “Grim Reaper” because of his accuracy.

In his first job interview with an undercover FBI agent, G. agreed to commit his first murder job. In mid-April the time had come: G. would kill someone for $5,000. At a park, the alleged client handed him an envelope containing information about the target and a $2,500 deposit. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the 21-year-old then asked if he still had to photograph the body after the crime. He was then arrested.

Josiah G. has now been charged. The investigations are still ongoing. If found guilty, the 21-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison. (lia)
