The president warns that he will not resign, despite his unpopularity, and that he will continue to do so until the end of his mandate in 2017.

Emmanuel Macron wants to show that despite the unpopularity he is suffering, exacerbated by the adoption of the pension reform, he will continue to rule until the end of his term. “I will not resign, we will have to wait until 2027», he said this Thursday during a visit to Pérols, in the south of France, talking about the date of the next presidential election.

The president seems willing to defeat those who have decided to meet him with pans on every planned trip to renew contact with the French. “That anger is expressed, and I didn’t expect anything else”Macron said during his visit to Alsace on Wednesday, “but this will not stop me from continuing to travel around the country because we must continue to act and move forward”. He assured himself that he would continue to serve the French during the remaining four years of his term, “well, rain or snow”, at the same time he recalled that he had seen worse situations with the yellow vest crisis. In the meantime, several hundred people were shouting with pans and cheering for him to resign.

This Thursday, Emmanuel Macron was in the apartment at Herault talk about education. He was greeted by a pan that he could hear, but from a distance because the prefect took it upon himself to ban “portable sound systems” in the grounds of the school where the president will be.

The prefect’s zeal did not prevent the local General Confederation of Labor (CGT) from turn off the electricity from the Montpellier airport where Macron was supposed to land and from the Louise-Michel de Ganges institute, which is why they had to develop an act in the courtyard of the center.

There, Macron pulled out a checkbook and announced an unconditional salary increase for all teachers, between 100 and 230 euros net per month, as well as an additional increase of 500 euros for carrying out certain missions. There will be no more teachers earning less than 2,000 euros per month assured the head of state, a promise that will cost 1,900 million euros in 2024. However, the trade unions received these measures coldly because they were promises he had already made during the election campaign, before the period of inflation.

After visiting the Ganges, Macron traveled to Pérols, where he walked in his shirt sleeves, shook hands and took selfies with everyone who asked him to take a photo, although he also had to respond to the criticism of those who criticized him for not listening to the voice of the French who are dissatisfied with the pension reform.

The Elysian tenant is doing well from this type of communication operations, which he intends to repeat in the coming weeks, although they will have to be numerous, considering the deep dissatisfaction of citizens after the adoption of the pension law. On Monday, 15 million French people watched his intervention on television, but according to a poll published this Thursday, the vast majority (78%) they were not convinced by his message.
