Jack Teixeira (21), the suspect in the affair surrounding the massive data leak from American secret documents, must answer for, among other things, unauthorized storage and disclosure of national defense information. This is evident from documents from the court in the state of Massachusetts, for which the 21-year-old soldier had to appear for the first time on Friday. National Guardsman Teixeira is also charged with unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials. He was informed of the allegations in court.
The television station CNN reported that the responsible judge had ordered Teixeira to remain detained for the time being. Another hearing with him is scheduled for next Wednesday. The FBI arrested Teixeira on Thursday in connection with the massive leak of US classified documents.
The 21-year-old soldier had official permission to view top secret government documents. The court documents also show that investigators were able to identify the suspect on the basis of invoices from an internet platform.
