Manhattan (New York) prosecutor Alvin Bragg, whose office a week ago charged former President Donald Trump (2017-2021) in connection with an alleged 2016 payment to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the presidential campaign, received another envelope this Wednesday with white powder. Bragg was the target of hundreds of threats since word got out that the grand jury that was called for the case was going to indict him, and this is the second envelope of white powder he’s received. As the other time, the authorities determined that the substance is not dangerous.
As reported by NBC media, the envelope was found in the mail room in the basement of the Prosecutor’s Office, after which the police, the staff of the Office of Emergency Management and the Department of Environmental Protection went to the building. A grand jury indicted Trump on 34 counts of improperly paying Daniels $130,000 to prevent him from disclosing a sexual relationship between the two while campaigning for the White House.
All of the indictments consist of various types of “falsification of business records in the first degree,” to which he has pleaded not guilty.
Former US President Donald Trump He betrayed his lawyer Michael Cohen for 500 million dollars (455 million euros) stating that he terminated the contract by talking about the former president in the media, damaging his image and reputation.
Cohen He was Trump’s lawyer and was responsible for making irregular payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election campaign, a crime to which he pleaded guilty and served just over a year in prison. Also cooperated with the judiciary in the part of the investigation concerning Trumpand offered to testify about it on numerous occasions.
Now Trump accuses him of violating the contract he signed with him by revealing confidential information about the magnate in numerous media interviews, as well as in a podcast created by the lawyer himself and in two books he wrote about the former president.
The lawsuit also accuses Cohen of using these statements to spread false information about the tycoon, as well as of damaging his reputation and image by perjury.
According to the text of the lawsuit, Cohen “benefited from his confidential relationship with Trump for financial gain” as well as to repair his own reputation, damaged by “his continued misrepresentations and fraudulent actions,” according to CNN.
For his part, Cohen’s lawyer stated in a statement that he will fight this complaint, and that Trump is “once again using and abusing the judicial system as a form of harassment and intimidation of Michael Cohen.”
