A man was wearing clothes similar to those worn by Japanese warriors when he killed two men in his Florida home in 1989.

US Supreme Court on Tuesday, he rejected an appeal for a stay of executionscheduled for today in Florida, from Louis Bernard Gaskinfor double murder which he committed in 1989 and for which he was sentenced to death, without the jury reaching a unanimous decision. .

Gaskin’s appeal to the highest court in the United States was filed on April 6, after the Florida Supreme Court refused to stay his execution by lethal injection, scheduled for 6 pm local time (22:00 GMT), this Wednesday at a Florida prison.

The request of Gaskin, which is known as ninja assassin, comes after the state Supreme Court announced that it had upheld, among other things, a ruling by District Judge Terence Perkins. That judge refused to hold a new hearing seeking testimony from a mental health expert, given that the issue had already been settled during the trial, and Gaskin’s own attorneys at the time avoided calling Gaskin a professional in the field.

Gaskin was sentenced to death for the murder of Robert Sturmfels (56) and Georgette Sturmfels (55) on December 20, which he shot with a rifle in the victim’s home, which is located in Flagler County, in the northwest of the state. He was also convicted of attempted murder of a married couple and armed robbery, crimes that occurred on the same day they occurred.

The local press called him out ninja assassin because He was wearing a black ninja outfit at the time of the crime. The police found in the house of Gaskin, who admitted to being the author of the murders, money, jewelry and items that were stolen from the victims’ house and which he intended to give as Christmas gifts to his girlfriend at the time.

If carried out, Gaskin’s execution will be the second of the yearafter the lethal injection administered to Donald Dillbeck, 59, at the Florida State Penitentiary on February 23.
