Another 23 percent of the companies surveyed can at least imagine using AI, the digital association Bitkom reported on Tuesday. One in four companies indicates that they are not yet sufficiently involved in the subject.
29 percent of companies rule out using AI for their business. And none of the more than 600 companies surveyed are officially using AI. However, most companies see text generation by AI as the biggest digital revolution since the smartphone (56 percent).
At the same time, 40 percent of the surveyed companies suspect a hype around applications such as the chatbot ChatGPT, which will soon disappear. Nevertheless, a majority of 70 percent of companies believe that AI will be part of everyday work in the future. Therefore, more knowledge about this should be transferred at school and in training.
In addition, according to the Bitkom survey, about half (51 percent) believe that using AI could require fewer staff. 40 percent believe the new technology could even make jobs disappear.
AI-based programs like ChatGPT create texts using artificial intelligence. Users can specify individual commands or phrases, which the corresponding systems then independently complete using huge amounts of data from the Internet.
