Pentagon documents reveal that Egypt planned to supply missiles to Russia

The United States Department of Defense has acknowledged that the recent leak of documents containing “highly classified and classified” information poses a “very serious risk to national security,” although it has yet to comment on the information from The Washington Post.

The documents were apparently left inside strifea messaging service that also serves as a social network, from January to early March, when the user posted dozens of messages in a group with a larger number of members.

Since then, at least a dozen files have been distributed through other channels. A redacted version of one of these documents surfaced last week via the Russian messaging app Telegram.

The documents describe in detail American assessment of the war in Ukraine and include plans to reinforce the Ukrainian army for a counter-offensive, as well as information on the state of Russian forces. It also includes sensitive material about Canada, China, Israel or South Korea.
