robert kennedythe nephew of the former US president John F. Kennedy, today presented his candidacy for the primaries Democratic Party for the 2024 elections.
Kennedy, who is a lawyer and anti-vaccination activist, presented his candidacy to the Federal Election Commission today, US media and Efe reported.
With the announcement of the son of former senator Robert F. Kennedy, they have already confirmed their desire to challenge Democratic nomination for 2024 two senior politicians. Marianne Williamson, a self-help author, first ran for the Democratic nomination last March. Current President Joe Biden has not officially announced that he will run for re-election.
Kennedy, 69, became one of the leading voices in the the anti-vaccine movement in the US hand in hand with the organization for the protection of children’s health, of which he is the founder and president.
In January of this year, Kennedy, along with other anti-vaccine activists, filed a lawsuit in Texas against several international media organizations, including the BBC and Reuters, alleging that they worked with social media platforms to censor their content. In 2021, Instagram closed his account on that network for spreading “denied” claims about the coronavirus and pandemic vaccines.
There are already four candidates on the Republican side: former President Donald Trump (2017-2021), former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.
