A father (54) from Herne in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia became the target of a murder plot. His two sons allegedly hired a 14-year-old as a hitman.
The reason for this: the father did not want to divorce the mother. That’s why the two brothers planned to kill the 54-year-old in his sleep. Moreover, the mother would have been aware of the assassination attempt, RTL News writes.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the mother moved to Berlin with her younger brother (15) in April last year – the eldest (16) stayed with his father in Herne. Because the 54-year-old did not want to agree to the divorce, the brothers hatched a plan to get rid of their father. The search for an assassin did not take long – a 14-year-old classmate agreed.
On the night of the murder, the 15-year-old and his classmate were traveling from Berlin to Herne. The 14-year-old allegedly hit the sleeping man with a machete. However, the 54-year-old survived.
The brothers had to answer in court on Tuesday. The mother was also present: she is accused of not having prevented the planned murder. The 14-year-old alleged perpetrator will be tried in a later procedure. A ruling is expected in June. (lia)
