Oleksiy Danilov published a 12-point plan on Sunday to liberate Crimea.

Russia has occupied the Crimea peninsula in Ukraine since 2014. After his troops invaded the peninsula, Russian President Vladimir Putin (70) did not hesitate and annexed the peninsula.

Now Ukraine has presented a 12-point plan for the “liberation” of Crimea. For example, the bridge between Crimea and mainland Russia will be demolished again, writes the secretary of the National Security Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilow (60), on Facebook on Sunday. According to experts, the Crimean Bridge is one of Putin’s favorite projects. The president took the opportunity to personally inaugurate the bridge. The bridge was partially damaged in an attack last fall. It has now been rebuilt.

Under the Ukrainian plan, members of the authorities who have cooperated with the Russians since 2014 will be held accountable. They want to carry out a “purge along the lines of the post-World War II denazification of Germany,” writes Danilov.

Violent Reactions in Russia

Russians who moved to Crimea after 2014 must be deported. Contracts of purchased land and other contracts would also be cancelled. “A comprehensive program of ‘detoxification’ is being implemented, which will neutralize the effects of the long-standing influence of Russian propaganda on the public consciousness of part of the peninsula’s population,” Danilov said.

The plans of the Ukrainian authorities met with little enthusiasm in the Kremlin. Russian media picked up the plan. The pro-Russian governor of the Crimean city of Sevastopol, Mikhail Rasvozhayev, described the plan as “sick”. Rasvozhayev said: «It would be wrong to take seriously the statements of sick people. They need to be healed.”

Other points include the “establishment of extensive documentation of Russian crimes against Ukrainian citizens” and the immediate release of all imprisoned Ukrainian citizens, Danilov continued. In addition, the city of Sevastopol should be renamed.

In recent weeks, Russia has repeatedly threatened to defend Crimea by any means necessary. In addition, the Kremlin called for international recognition of Crimea as part of Russia in order to begin peace talks with Ukraine. Ukraine and large parts of the international community reject this plan. (zis)
