Random capture in Austria: Police officers in Carinthia check a parked car shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday evening. In the car are two Germans, the 43-year-old driver and a 35-year-old passenger. During the routine check, the uniformed officers make a chilling discovery. In the trunk of the vehicle, they discover 14 fully skeletonized human skulls.
Initial investigations show that the two men stole the skulls from a freely accessible ossuary in the nearby municipality of Mölbling in the afternoon. Such death houses, also called Karner, are common in Austria and southern Germany. If a grave was to be reused for a new burial, taking the skulls or bones to an ossuary was considered a kind of second burial.
According to media reports, the two Germans stated that their motive was that they were very interested in mourning and funeral cultures. According to their own statements, they brought skulls for the first time. The police secured the find. The two fans of the death cult are reported after the investigation for disturbing the peace of the dead. (kes)
