Audrey H. killed six people in an elementary school shooting in the United States.

Heavily armed, Audrey H.*, 28, stormed a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, and opened fire. She kills three children and three adults before the police stop and shoot the killer.

Shortly after the horror act, it became known that Audrey H. saw herself as transgender. Transgender people are people who do not or do not identify with the gender that was determined at birth. Audrey H. is technically a woman, making her the fifth shooter in U.S. history. In contrast, according to the latest figures from the New York Times, there were 168 male rampage runs between 1966 and March 2021.

Brenda Spencer

In 1979, Brenda Spencer fired a shotgun from her home at Cleveland Elementary School across the street in San Diego. The principal and a school employee died in the 20-minute hail of bullets and eight students were injured. When asked by a reporter why she committed the bloody crime, the 16-year-old replied: “I just don’t like Mondays”. The musician Bob Geldof (71) used the saying as a song title for his band BoomTown Rats. Spencer was sentenced to life imprisonment and is still behind bars.

In 2008, Latina Williams marched into her Louisiana Technical College classroom armed with a handgun and fired six shots at her fellow students. Karsheika G.* (21) and Taneshia B.* (26) died before Williams shot himself. The 26-year-old man suffered from paranoid delusions.

Tea Wimberley

Teah Wimberly was 15 when she shot classmate Amanda Collette with a gun at Dilliard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2008. 15-year-old Collette died and another classmate was slightly injured by a bullet. The motive: Wimberly had been in love with Collette, but she had rejected her advances. Wimberly was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2010.

12-year-old had gun in backpack

The last female shooter was just 12 when she fired a semi-automatic pistol at Rigby Middle School in Idaho in 2021. She had smuggled the gun into the building in her backpack. Students and teachers were able to escape without anyone being injured. A teacher was able to disarm and detain her before the summoned police officers arrived. The girl was arrested and given a seven-year juvenile sentence for attempted murder. (jmh)
