When authorities inquired about the terrible bloody crime in Nashville on Monday, a passerby suddenly heard the voice. “I’m just tired of all the mass shootings,” said Ashbey Beasley, who appeared on the “CNN” stream shortly afterward.

It’s no coincidence that Beasley reacted visibly emotionally: “My son and I survived the mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois,” she explains.

The city near Chicago was rocked last summer by a shooting on the American national holiday. A gunman opened fire during a crowded parade, killing seven people. 30 others were injured.

Even Obama reacted to the passerby’s video

Beasley was visiting her sister-in-law in Nashville when she learned of the shooting. “It broke my heart,” the woman said.

Since last summer’s bloody act, she has been campaigning for better gun safety in the United States. “It’s access to guns that kills us.” Despite their efforts, little has happened so far. This is met with incomprehension from Beasley: “How can this still happen? How can our children still die?”

To them, it’s clear: “We won’t see any change until our legislators step up and pass gun safety laws.”

Ashbey Beasley’s appearance seems to have taken on. Former US President Barack Obama, 61, even shared her video on Twitter, writing, “We are abandoning our children. Firearms are the leading cause of death for children in the United States today. Michelle and I join the students and families of Covenant School in mourning today.” (dzc)
