Two dead, nine missing after Pennsylvania chocolate factory explosion

The building was completely destroyed, and the deflagration moved its foundations by more than a meter

Two people died, eight were hospitalized, and nine are still missing after the explosion on Friday night chocolate factory in West Readingin the state Pennsylvania (NOW).

The city authorities confirmed that at 14:57 (local time) a a big explosion in the factory of the chocolate company RM Palme Company, resulting in the destruction of the building and a fire in the ruins, as reported by NBC Philadelphia and collected by Europa Press.

More the reason for the explosion is unknownwhich affected neighboring buildings, but which, according to the assessment of the Emergency Service, does not pose a danger to the residents living near this business premises.

Mayor Samantha Kaag confirmed that the building was completely destroyedand that there is an explosion moved its foundations more than one meter. He also warned that the rescue would last through the night and possibly into the weekend.
