Through Truth Social, his recent media outlet, Donald Trump warned this Friday that his arrest over the porn actress case would stormy daniels could sow “death and destruction” in the land. Otherwise, he accused the Manhattan prosecutor handling the case, Alvin Bragg, calling him a “degenerate psychopath who hates the United States.”

The message comes at the end of a week in which the only news in the proceedings was the testimony of the lawyer robert costellothe defense urged, despite Trump announcing that his arrest would take place on Tuesday.

According to sources close to the former president, in closed-door meetings at Mar-a-Lago, Trump is evaluating how to use his possible arrest on a media level. For the tycoon and his team, the question arises whether it is better to leave smiling or not in the meeting with the media that would follow the arrest.

For the leader of the democratic minority in the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, The former president’s speech is “reckless, reprehensible and irresponsible”. Jeffries highlighted the risks involved in a rhetorical spiral that has already led to an attack on the Capitol in January 2021 and from which Trump has “not learned his lesson.” “If this goes on,” Jeffries said, You’re going to end up killing someone.”

Republican pressures

Earlier this week, it emerged that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, a member of the ultraconservative Freedom Caucus, along with two other Republicans, sent a letter to Bragg informing him of the committee’s interest in a potential investigation into the case. In the letter, they asked Bragg to testify before the House of Representatives and provide documents about the case against Trump because they believe he will commit “abuse of power in the face of unprecedented prosecution.”

Asked by NBC reporters about Trump’s statements, Jordan did not want to comment, explaining that he had not had the opportunity to see the former president’s post on the social network in which he talks about “death and destruction.” Then, when a reporter showed him Trump’s cell phone words, Jordan again declined to comment.
