German ministers seem to be having little luck with their machines at the moment: problems have arisen on two government flights. That reports “n-tv”.
Economy Minister Robert Habeck (53) and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (42) were hit. For the first time, Habeck’s punctual departure for Copenhagen was unsuccessful – the weather threw a spanner in the works. His plane was struck by lightning shortly before takeoff.
Habeck traveled to Copenhagen for a two-day visit to meet the Danish climate and energy ministers and the industry minister for talks.
At the same time, there was an incident on Baerbock’s flight. When the politician wanted to land in the capital Tbilisi for her visit to Georgia, the plane of the foreign minister had to take off without further ado. “Actually, not much is happening here in Tbilisi. But tonight,” the pilot said through the loudspeaker on board.
Because a colleague was still taxiing and unfortunately could not do so fast enough, the approach reportedly had to be aborted at the last minute. Good luck with bad luck: the Airbus was able to land 20 minutes later without further complications. (dzc)
