Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin (70) is missing. Losses are high and supplies are lacking. To create an incentive there is a special reward: a front bonus. For each kilometer won, 50,000 rubles, the equivalent of 590 francs, are available. This is reported by the independent portal Meduza. Villages, districts and also cities have published recruitment calls on social media.
Anyone who signs a contract to fight in Ukraine is entitled to a signing bonus of 295,000 rubles (about 3,460 francs) and a monthly salary of 200,000 rubles (about 2,370 francs). This is comparable to the salary of a Russian doctor or a Russian software developer.
According to the latest Norwegian estimates, 180,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded in the fighting. Other Western estimates assume 150,000 victims. In comparison, the Soviet Union’s war in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1989 claimed the lives of approximately 15,000 Soviet soldiers.
In particular, the disputed Ukrainian city of Bakhmut is considered a “meat grinder” that has claimed the lives of countless soldiers. A lack of ammunition has already cost countless lives. (two)
