But the girls are not allowed to go completely unpunished. Because civil law may still apply.

No new identities for the perpetrators

In Germany, the law states that compensation for pain and suffering can be imposed from the age of seven – if the person knew he was doing something wrong at the time of the crime, “Bild” writes. Such a sentence lasts 30 years. If the alleged perpetrators were ordered to pay compensation for pain and suffering, they would not actually have to pay until they started earning their own money.

Until then it will probably take a while. The girls are currently in a youth care institution, says magistrate Thorsten Schleif (43) to “Bild”. It could even be psychiatry.

Strict rules apply there: mobile phones are prohibited and a clocked daily routine, among other things, is prohibited. “Whether they are placed in a closed facility depends on whether they pose a threat to others or to themselves,” says Schleif.
