He knew exactly what he was doing – and what was to come. Vladimir Gruzdev (56), the oligarch and head of the Association of Russian Lawyers, used a clever and insidious daughter trick to secure part of his fortune.
Just 20 days before the offensive war against Ukraine began, he signed over his 8-year-old daughter his 9.4 million euro apartment in a luxury London neighborhood. This is reported by Business Insider.
Because: The foreseeable Western sanctions during the illegal invasion would have blocked some of Grusdew’s funds. The millionaire wanted to prevent that. And the children of the oligarchs have not been sanctioned to this day, even though the calls for it are getting louder.
Grusdev is the best example of how the relatives of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin (70) were aware of the Russian war plans. Together with the Russian bar association, Grusdev even welcomed the war – and to this day he stands with Putin.
In 2000, a Cayman Islands-based company bought the luxury apartment in London for €2.6 million. The tax rate there is zero percent. The apartment is in London’s upscale Kensington area – where so many Russian oligarchs own properties, the area is also known as Red Square. Grusdew is said to be behind the company.
Grusdew’s daughter, now the official owner of the property, now owns an apartment in a prime location. Kensington Palace, the Royal Albert Hall and several international embassies are located in the immediate vicinity. Her father can afford it: according to estimates for 2021, he has a net worth of more than $ 850 million. (two)
