“Can and must”: China’s new head of government wants to cooperate with the US Identity clarified: Selenskyj honors slain sniper – the night update without photos

New Chinese Premier Li Qiang has called for more cooperation between China and the United States.

Withdrawal serves no one, Li Qiang said at a press conference on Monday after the annual session of the People’s Congress in Beijing. The two largest economies are closely linked in terms of trade and commerce, from which both have benefited. “China and the United States can and should work together.”

He indirectly echoed state and party leader Xi Jinping’s accusation that the US wanted to prevent China’s rise in the world through containment and isolation: “Encirclement and oppression is in no one’s interest,” said Li Qiang. However, unlike the president and foreign minister Qin Gang at the conference, Li Qiang struck relatively conciliatory tones to the US. (sda/dpa)
