As the “Spiegel” reports, the shooter from Hamburg is said to be a 35-year-old man from Kempten (Allgäu). The man said he grew up in a “strictly evangelical household”, did an internship at a bank and then studied business administration, according to the report.

As the “Spiegel” goes on to refer to the man’s homepage, he offers consulting services in the field of “controlling” and “theology” there – and at terrible prices: he therefore charges a “minimum daily rate of 250,000 euros plus 19 percent value-added tax.” The reason he stated was that he could generate “at least 2.5 million euros” for his clients.

On his website, the 35-year-old describes himself as “multicultural” and “a self-proclaimed European”. According to previous information from the Hamburg police, the alleged perpetrator himself is among the fatalities. In total, the investigative authorities currently assume eight deaths, including the suspect, and other injuries.

According to information from security circles, the alleged shooter in Hamburg was not known to the authorities as an extremist. According to reports, the fact that his name appeared in the databases of the security authorities has no criminal background, but is due to his application for a gun license.
