Lost Russians are labeled as deserters

The number of Russian deserters is on the rise – at least on paper. Because soldiers at the front wander and cannot find their unit, their superiors report them as having fled and the soldiers are considered traitors. This writes the pro-Russian Telegram channel «Rybar».

Ever since Russian President Vladimir Putin (70) mobilized the population, there have been constant organizational problems. A number of soldiers were “lost” – they didn’t die, but they couldn’t be found either. But since the border area is very confusing, soldiers get lost looking for their group in the hinterland.

Many mobilized do not even know to whom they report. They are only assigned their unit number without receiving any further information. The soldiers also don’t know who to report to or who can tell them more about the mission.

Centers are designed to collect lost soldiers

When the lost soldiers ask the stationed military offices where to go, they are only told to go to Donetsk or Luhansk. You can help them there. After treatment, wounded soldiers are sent out to find their unit somewhere along the long front line.

As a solution, centers should be set up to collect the lost soldiers and give them specific instructions and information and properly register them – so that they do not return from their mission in Ukraine and face court charges of desertion.

It remains to be seen whether such contact points will solve the problem in the long run. Because the soldiers must be given clear information from the outset about where their unit is located and to whom to send reports. But no one seems to care about that.
