The ministry announced in Copenhagen on Monday that the use of the platform is prohibited for security reasons, but also because the app is only needed to a very limited extent for the employees’ work. Anyone who has installed Tiktok on their corporate mobile phones or other corporate devices should uninstall the app as soon as possible.
The ministry thus follows a recommendation from the Danish Center for Cybersecurity (CFCS), which recently advised not to use Tiktok on service devices owned by government agencies. As the newspaper “Jyllands-Posten” reported last week, the ministries of Justice, Climate and Energy have already banned the app.
In other Western countries, for example in the US, Canada and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Latvia, the short video service of the Chinese ByteDance group was also banned from companies’ mobile phones. (SDA)
