Spectacular robbery: Two armed and masked perpetrators robbed and robbed a cash transporter at a highway entrance in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in northern Germany with their cars.
The perpetrators are on the run, the police reported on Thursday. According to inside information, the stolen cash boxes contained an amount in the millions.
According to initial investigations, the perpetrators had previously succeeded in getting large concrete blocks onto the A20 slip road near Gützkow. The van was unable to escape when it was forced to stop early in the morning by a car driving in front and blocked from behind by the second vehicle.
After using various tools to gain access to the money transporter’s transport area, the perpetrators set fire to the money transporter and one of their two murder vehicles. According to the police, they fled in a van towards Neubrandenburg.
The detectives placed checkpoints on the A20 and on two national roads in the region and checked the occupants. The driver and passenger of the money transporter were not injured, but received medical attention. (bab/AFP)
