This is evident from court documents that reflect affidavits from the 91-year-old from early February, according to US media. “Some of our commentators agreed,” the media mogul said, referring to false claims that the election was stolen from then-incumbent Donald Trump.

The statement is part of a libel lawsuit brought by voting machine manufacturer Dominion against Fox News. Dominion is seeking approximately $1.6 billion in damages in the lawsuit because Fox News spread reports of alleged tampering with the voting machines. The TV station’s management invokes freedom of the press and insists that it legitimately treats and reproduces the version of Trump and his lawyers as news. In the trial before a federal court in Delaware, Dominion wants to prove that Fox News deliberately broadcast false news.

One of the most popular shows is the evening show of opinionated conservative moderator Tucker Carlson, who occasionally fuels right-wing conspiracy theories with his theses. In January, his show averaged more than three million people per song.
The court documents show that Fox anchors feared losing viewers’ favor if they did not support Trump’s voter fraud allegations. To this day, the Republican falsely claims that fraud robbed him of his election victory. Last year, a US Congressional Commission of Inquiry made serious accusations against Trump for inciting his supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6, 2021 and called for criminal charges.
