Volodymyr Zelensky (45) needs more weapons. In his daily video message on Monday evening, he asked the West for better air defenses, including fighter jets.
And his Secret Service chief takes the same line. Kyrylo Budanov, 37, says in an interview with “Voice of America” that an “intensification of arms deliveries” could accelerate the turning point in the war. The weapons would be delivered, but the speed and quantity would not be sufficient, he complains.
At the same time, he is convinced that the army of Vladimir Putin (70) is slowly running out of air. “Russia is not ready for long battles. They show in every possible way that they are ready for a ten-year war, but in reality their resources are quite limited. And they are well aware of that.”
The pattern change in the missile attacks on Ukraine also speaks for this. “We see that the time between missile strikes is increasing and the number of missiles is decreasing.” According to him, this is because the Kremlin is running out of missiles.
Budanov also does not believe that China would support Russia with arms deliveries. A few days ago, the “Mirror” reported that the Russian military and the Chinese drone manufacturer Xi’an Bingo Intelligent Aviation Technology would negotiate the production of kamikaze drones. The company reportedly agreed to produce 100 prototype ZT-180 drones and deliver them by April.
In Ukraine, such reports are apparently not considered credible. Budanov insists: “I don’t see any indication that such things are discussed at all.” Iran is currently the only country helping Russia with equipment, he says.
But how can Russia continue the war under these circumstances? “Under these circumstances, Russia cannot afford to admit that it will lose at this point. The stability of the regime directly depends on this factor.”
And Budanov is convinced: «Russia is not unanimous in favor of continuing the war. As for the top leadership of the state, many have come to realize that something is wrong.” There are not many people in the Russian leadership who support war to the bitter end. Putin’s followers would now be waiting for “the pre-war Kremlin tower crashes into the wall and admits it can’t.”
The head of the secret service dares to make a prediction: “The next three months will be very active, that will determine the further course of events.” Are Ukraine planning more attacks on Russia? Budanov had already announced such intentions in January. Ukraine is said to be planning a “major advance” by spring at the latest, and fighting is said to be “hottest” in March.
Now his deputy also confirms such plans. “It is possible that we will also destroy weapons depots or military equipment on Russian territory, for example around the city of Belgorod,” said Wadym Skibitsky in an interview with the Funke media group. Skibitsky justifies such an attack by saying that Kharkiv is being attacked from Belgorod. (man)
