Reality star loses more than 260 kilos

At his worst, American Casey King was virtually confined to his bed playing video games. He could no longer lead a private life, attend family events or move properly. With a body weight of 380 kilos, almost nothing was possible. To wash, his family placed a bathtub on the terrace, because it once got stuck in the regular shower for eleven hours and would not move.

King told the British newspaper “Daily Star” about his life: “My dad had to help me wipe my butt when I was 34. He had to do everything for me like I was a toddler. I used to have to wake him up in the middle of the night so he could go to the bathroom with me,” said King. He didn’t want to live this life anymore, he was devastated.

Shortly afterwards, King was asked by the American TV channel TLC to participate in a program about guiding overweight people in their daily lives. He was told all he had to do was tell them what it was like to be super fat. Plus, it should have sounded as horrible as possible. King agreed to take part, but told the producers he would not say or do anything that was inconsistent with reality.

“The doctor said I could die in my sleep”

But then came the turning point: King learned that he could theoretically fall asleep every night and never wake up again. The doctors told him that his body was not producing enough oxygen and that he was on his way to death. These statements shocked King and led him to change his life forever.

He started with light exercises in everyday life and then increased his sports load. With a healthy diet and sufficient exercise, he managed to lose 100 kilos. The American also decided to have a stomach reduction done. His entire weight loss journey — he lost more than 500 pounds in total — was also tracked on the TLC show.

After his amazing transformation, his daily life completely changed. “I can finally catch up on things I missed,” said King. It’s nice to be mobile again. However, he cannot make up for missed birthdays or funerals. Still, he’s happy to be where he is now and never wants to go back. After all, he still has a lot of plans for the future. (A)
